Progress!

The above image includes 4 polaroids I shot last summer at Rock the Bells for my Dilla Book but the words have been removed so you'll have to buy the book : ) These are some of the most special shots I've taken, especially because it was the first time I met Baatin and he left us just a few weeks later. The Roots shots are also meaningful because it was an opportunity to briefly explain my book and show it to Tariq and Ahmir and that was just awesome! Not to mention the time they spared to let me shoot a Polaroid and an additional set of portraits!! What a day. (And don't let me forget Hi-Tek who is just a very cool, laid back fella.

The meaning of this post is to get it out there that I've been making progress on the book! I've shot a ton more Polaroids and I recently signed my first lease so I could commit to one more year (at least) in The D and finish up what I've started. I'm excited to keep chugging away at this project that started as a Senior Thesis and has turned into an education on the meaning of relationships, family, love, and creativity.

RIP J Dilla, I wish I could have known you.
